He is the protagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series published by Sega and appears in numerous spin-off comics, animations, and other media. Sonic first appeared in video games in 1991 in the arcade racing game Rad Mobile, as a decoration hanging from the rearview mirror. Now he is one of the most famous video game characters in the world and a gaming icon. If Mario is Nintendo's mascot, then Sonic is Sega's mascot!
