Introduced in 2020, LEGO® Super Mario™ is a Lego-themed companion app developed by Japanese giant game developer Nintendo and the Danish brick sets maker Lego together. This app brings the offline Lego sets building work online and enhances your Lego experience overall. You need first to purchase the customized Mario-themed Lego sets in real life, and this app can help you build your sets way more easily with the unique and easy-to-use 3D building instructions. You can rotate the 3D model and zoom in or zoom out as you need with the viewing tool featured in the app, this is more user-friendly compared to the paper booklet and is also good for our environment. The app is a game-changer for both Lego fans and Mario fans. You will no longer build your LEGO sets at your home on your own without any attention from others, this app offers your many interactions and rewards as you build more sets and unlock more levels. With certain sets, you are able to collect digital coins, defeat your enemies, and complete challenges. It’s just amazing that the character you are using to play games and unlock achievements in the app is the Mario that you just built in real life. Not just Mario, if you purchase the LEGO Super Mario Pirahna Power Plant Slide Expansion Set, the enemies (Goomba and Koopa Troopa characters) are also included in the set, and in the app, you can get extra gold coins if you avoid the Pirahna Plant successfully. The app is designed in the way that games logically follow the design of real Lego sets. For example, with the LEGO Super Mario Guarded Fortress Expansion Set, you will unlock different routes to reach the destination in the app game, and this follows exactly the real set as it features a structure of multiple roads. There are also several mini-games and challenges in the app that you collect even more coins. With the app, you can play in two different ways with the same single Lego set, which is amazing.

Another favorite highlight of the app is that you can save photos of your completed Lego sets or other moments that you want to review in the future to your gallery. And you can also share these favorite moments with your friends within the system. While I highly recommended that Nintendo and Lego enhance the app into a better place for networking, where people can comment, like, and dislike photos and posts shared by their friends and can follow the people they like or their favorite builders.               

One thing I think the developer should improve or change is the random level generator, as it would be nice to see my favorite digital collections shown on the main screen, and not the random level generator. It would be great if this part can also be customized to show sets that either I like the most or I own in real life (like a library of my Lego sets). Another thing that I think can be customized is the music. Now the music is completely random on all levels, but it would be great if I can choose the different genres of music or even specific songs for each level. It could also be amazing if songs are unlocked level by level (kind of similar to those music rhythm challenge games) or are unlocked each time you purchase and complete a new Mario set in real life, which is an additional reward.  

The app is overall great in terms of enhancing your Lego experiences.
