Peppa Pig celebrates 20 years of entertaining kids around the world, and Netflix has given children a gift to mark the occasion: World of Peppa Pig, an entire game that fits within your Netflix subscription. For parents already subscribing to the streaming service, that translates to zero extra cost and open-ended access into a safe ad-free environment where play is limitless. That alone makes it one of the most generous offerings in children's entertainment today.

This game has one of the best coming together of play, creativity and watching without a single ad. This is a far cry from children passively consuming media. You get to build toys, go hand-in-hand on puzzles in your guinea pig nurturing skills helping Peppa along the way and even make smoothies for Candy Cat. Each activity is crafted to feel like an extension of the show itself, so kids who are already Peppa fans instantly find themselves at home.

You are really blown away by the creative tools. Children are able to colour in, paint and draw as well while playing dress up with their favourite characters or making scenes from pictures using stickers. There is a role-play function that allows kids to take on the stories from Peppa's universe. Imagination and self-expression at levels simple video never could!

And then, there is the watch category where you can access all episodes of music videos and nursery rhymes. Children can then sing along, dance and watch the same scenes over and over again at their pleasure. And, of course for parents not having anything interrupted by ads and paywalls is a whole other salvation. It is not so often that you find a children's game which respects the child attention span and their pocket as well.

Yet, there is an unarguable disadvantage that NEEDS to be addressed. It requires a Netflix subscription to unlock the full experience, leaving it off-limits completely for families who don't use Netflix or would prefer not to pay for its service. Even though the game in itself is free for members, that membership still costs money each month and not every home has it. This creates a significant hurdle for such an early childhood game. Even if a child absolutely loved the show, they cannot get into World of Peppa Pig at this time, not unless their family pays for Disney+, Hulu or no streaming service whatsoever. That makes what could be an all-around celebration of Peppa's twentieth anniversary into a Netflix-only perk.

Nevertheless, for families already within the Netflix ecosystem, World of Peppa Pig really is almost impossible to fault. Safe, creative, educational and devoid of the annoyance that runs rampant in most children's apps. This title is effectively a freebie your kids will enjoy if Netflix already bills your household. Just do not count on it to be opened up in the direction of everyone. You must let your kids have a try, the game is better than just watching the TV, your children will like it.
